Necessarily notarial confirmation will be required in migration services, passport offices, registry offices, internal affairs departments, military enlistment offices and traffic police, for nostrification of educational documents and exchange documentation.
In some instances (courts, customs and tax authorities), it is enough to confirm the correct translation of documents with the seal of the bureau. In turn, for some countries, a number of legal relations are possible only with additional confirmation procedures that in the state bodies of the Republic of Belarus occurs in two ways, depending on the country of destination:
- Apostille is a special format for approval of the international standard, which is valid in 107 parties to the 1961 Hague Convention. These include all CIS countries, the USA, European and South American states, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Turkey, Israel and others. In the case of a notarized document, you must contact the Ministry of Justice (regional administration), the Ministry of Education — for diplomas of educational institutions, certificates and the like.
- Consular legalization is needed instead of an apostille for countries that are not included in the Hague Convention — these are Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, China (except for Hong Kong and Shanghai), most African and Asian states. Translation of documents with notarization is legalized at the Main Consular Department of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the subsequent confirmation of the signature at the embassy or consulate.
